Magnet Family Portraits
For the first time since the pandemic began, the Magnet Theater audience was packed twice over...virtually! Thank you to Magnet performers Ona Vicente and Dmitry Shein of Blue Haus Photography for creating their socially distanced photography project that has allowed us all a glimpse into our post-pandemic future. The steadfast support of this community has been incredibly moving and we can't wait to see you all again IRL when it is safe to do so. We are thankful for all of you and hope that everyone had a happy and safe Thanksgiving weekend.
Remember Me?

1. Where are you sheltering?

I am sheltering in my apartment in the East Village with my hubs, two kiddos and two bun-buns! Never a dull (or quiet!) moment, really.

2. How are you staying sane?

Some days I wonder if I am actually staying sane!! This year has been an emotional roller coaster to say the least. I know that going into the winter, it will be a tough one so I am going in with the attitude of finding the joys where I can. Just appreciating little laughs here and there has made a difference - something as small as my autocorrect on my phone changing my son's name from Dershan to Dershowitz :-). We also adopted two baby bunnies from a shelter in September and it's the first time I have ever had a pet. I underestimated the amount of peace the buns bring me.

3. What do you miss most?

HUMAN CONNECTION. I am lucky to be around people regularly at my restaurant but, my goodness, do I ever miss just being able to put the kids to bed, jump on my bike and head to Magnet to catch the last hours of Megawatt. I miss our amazing Magnet community and just walking into the lobby being guaranteed to run into someone you know.

4. What don't you miss?

Both of my children have been remote schooling since March and I do love the fact that there is not a mad dash to the school bus every morning where I feel like I am a crazy person getting the kids out the door in time.

5. What do you want to say to the other members of the Magnet community?

We are truly so lucky to be a part of this community and I don't doubt the sentiment is shared by all! Although this has been such an arduous year (on some more than others), there is a lot of love out there, reach out if you need some, you aren't alone! Make sure you take some time just to do something completely for yourself every day, you deserve it.
