"This might be obvious to people who have seen me improvise but I am usually enamored by the people I play with. And I don't know if that's always a good thing! Sometimes it takes me out of the scene, and it also usually makes me break uncontrollably. But, for me personally, it makes improv into more of a meditative and restorative activity. I used to come into improv with a more competitive mentality, and I think I did myself a disservice for a long time doing that because it made me tense up so often before entering a scene. So what's the improv lesson there? I guess, if you're struggling with coming up with scene initiations, give your full attention to your scene partner. Even if you're both lost, that connection will usually have all you need to generate ideas."
