Remember Me?

Magnet visits with people we haven't seen in awhile.

House Manager Amado Fernandez
1. Where are you sheltering?

At my parents' house in Westchester County, New York!

2. How are you staying sane?

By staying distracted, mostly. Whether it be trying to learn a new skill like playing an instrument or going for runs or hikes. Also, drinking helps a lot.

3. What do you miss most?

The normalcy of it all. I miss the people I'd see every week at the theater. I miss having conversations and seeing someone's whole face. I miss the hustle and bustle of people in one place, enjoying comedy, and being happy.

4. What don't you miss?

I don't miss the commute into the city. That's actually a big win for me.

5. What do you want to say to the other members of the Magnet community?

Stay strong, whatever that means to you. Any activity that gives you life and energy rather than takes it away. I'd say get off social media, perhaps take a break from all technology for a day. Take a deep breath, go outside, and take a moment to be completely present. Reach out to the person you've been thinking about to just ask them how they're doing - they'll appreciate that. Lastly, have hope that everything will be better because I'd argue that's the only thing we can do. Also, drinking helps a lot.
