(Performer)

Jen Sanders has been performing theater, improv, storytelling and sketch in New York City since 2004. Having trained at Magnet and UCB in New York City, and at Annoyance Theater in Chicago, she has studied improv with Armando Diaz, Mick Napier, Rachel Hamilton, Mark Sutton, James Eason, Joe Bill, Susan Messing and Becky Drysdale, among others. She does lovely funky long form improv with Lights Out Shirley, and excessively enthusiastic musical improv with Choral Rage and Tambourine. She made her musical theater debut in Justin Moran's "POPE: The Musical," in 2010. Her group Elsie Jay was selected to perform at Ars Nova's ANT FEST, and her two woman show (written and performed with Emlyn Morinelli) made a splash at the 2009 NYC International Fringe Festival. She runs the Magnet theater's video showcase, FLICK, and she created and runs improv-to-film intensive, "Shoot from the Hip." She has studied experimental theater at NYU TISCH School of Arts, holds a bachelor's degree in Russian Studies, and a master's degree in Painting, of all things.
