Chris De La Cruz is a comedian, storyteller, and social justice educator originally from Dayton, Ohio. He began performing improv comedy in 2009 at Middlebury College with the Otter Nonsense Players. In 2013, he moved to NYC where he began working with arts organization Story Pirates as a teaching artist, performer, and producer. In 2014 he joined the Magnet Theater and also began grad school at NYU where he was the only grad student on the undergraduate team Dangerbox. Outside of performing improv, he is a founding Learning Coach at South Bronx Community Charter High School where he teaches a social justice / media class titled #FIGHTTHEPOWER and Freestyle Comedy based on MTV’s Wild N’ Out. He also is a regular host for the Moth High School Education Program.

Outside of his Megawatt team She-Wolf, Chris has performed with Junior Varsity, the Blob, and the Mixtape Show. He is a proud recipient of the Magnet’s Diversity Scholarship and has studied improv and sketch at the Magnet Theater, the PIT, iO in Chicago, and Second City in Chicago with Bradford Jordan, Nick Kanellis, Elana Fishbein, Louis Kornfeld, Rick Andrews, Peter McNerney, Kevin Cragg, Annie O’Connor, Levin O’Connor, Leslie Korein, Nathan Jansen, Jason Shotts, Tara DeFrancisco, Ryan Archibald, Rachael Mason, Micah Philbrook and Irene Marquette.
