Amanda Melhuish is a comedy writer and actor based in Brooklyn, NY. Because her last name is ~challenging~ to pronounce, people often call her Amanda Has Bangs. (It started as an insta handle and escalated into a domain name, so that should give you a sense of her serious this has become.) Amanda's comedy writing has been featured on Reductress, Daily Women in Comedy, Weekly Humorist and more. She's also written jokes for quiz apps and adult board games. Amanda also used to pay her bills by naming ice cream flavors. Oh, and yeah, she's tweeted for Tig. This brunette-comedian-with-bangs studied clown and musical theatre in college — this may explain her penchant for doing insane physical things on stage. Like playing possessed teen girls or spitting out food. Her passions include destigmatizing the feminine-presenting body, talking frankly about the grosser parts of the human experience, and utterly mocking the *hell* out of people in power. Most recently, she performed in "Brad Knows Nothing" at New York Musical Festival. She founded a 1960s style girl group named The Baguettes, featuring original songs like "Bensonhurst Christmas".She also teaches improv and storytelling with The Engaging Educator, and privately coaches public speaking.
