Class Description


This class will introduce you to the basics of sketch writing. You will learn how to develop your ideas and turn them into hilarious sketches. Each week the class will cover different techniques and different types of sketch comedy. Students will be given weekly assignments to write and workshop in class. 6 Weeks. No experience necessary.

Instructor: Nat Silverman

Nat Silverman is a writer, director, and performer from New York City. She is the current Program Director for the Magnet's Livewire sketch program. You can see her perform sketch comedy, improv, and stand-up onstage at the Magnet Theater, UCB, Brooklyn Comedy Collective, Caveat, and festivals around the country. She has also written for McSweeney's, Awf Magazine, Off Q Comedy, NYC Webfest-selected series Six Story Walkup, and many many wonderful sketch teams.

Nat is a 4th generation New Yorker, and as such has access to the hidden secret subway system that they don't let transplants ride.
