Magnet’s Nina Sharma’s Makes Her Book Debut
We’re thrilled to announce that Magnet guest instructor Nina Sharma has announced her first book, entitled The Way You Make Me Feel: Love in Black and Brown, publishing on May 7th from Penguin Press.
A 2017 recipient of the Diversity Scholarship, Sharma is not only an instructor at Magnet, but also a professor of writing and English at Columbia University and Barnard College. Her new book The Way You Make Me Feel is a memoir-in-essays about love, allyship, family, identity, and more, told through her own interracial relationship with Black writer and now-husband, Quincy. It is a beautiful story of growing up, of falling in love, and learning how relationships can define our perspective the world. Sharma weaves in history, pop culture, and politics into her essays, and ultimately reaffirms the idea that allyship is an act of true love.
Her book is available for pre-order now at https://www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/711680/the-way-you-make-me-feel-by-nina-sharma/or wherever you buy your books.
