Announcing Sketch Circuit, Summer 2022!
What is the Sketch Circuit?
The Sketch Circuit provides the opportunity for Magnet students and performers to collaborate on a brand new team to put up 2 original live sketch shows at the theater!
What is the run?
The Summer Sketch Circuit is a 2 show commitment with shows: Thursday, June 16, 2022 and Thursday, August 4, 2022.
Who can apply?
To Apply as a Writer you must have (at least one of the following):
- Completed Sketch 2 at the Magnet
- Be currently enrolled in Sketch 2 at the Magnet
- A current or past member of a Magnet House Sketch team (any role)
Apply as a Performer you must have (at least one of the following)
- Completed Improv 3 at the Magnet
- Be currently enrolled in Improv 3 at the Magnet
- Completed Sketch 2 at the Magnet
- Be currently enrolled in Sketch 2 at the Magnet
- A current or past member of a Magnet House Sketch team (any role)
What’s the time commitment?
Writers will be required to attend weekly virtual writers meetings held Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday nights from 7-10 PM ET. Performers are required to attend virtual table reads and in-person rehearsals (and they are encouraged to attend writers meetings) . All team members are required to attend tech rehearsals. No team member may miss more than 2 required rehearsals during the run of the circuit.
SAMPLE SCHEDULE:
Week 1 - Mon, Tues or Wed Writers Meeting (1st Drafts Due)
Week 2 - Mon, Tues or Wed Writers Meeting (2nd Drafts Due)
Week 3 - Mon, Tues or Wed Writers Meeting (Final Drafts Due)
Week 4 - Mon, Tues or Wed Blocking Rehearsal (in-person)
Week 5 - Sun or Sat Tech Rehearsal the Week of the Show (in-person)
Thurs Show at 8:00 PM ET at the Magnet Theater (in-person)
Does it cost anything?
Sketch circuit teams are expected to hold weekly writers meetings/rehearsals (excluding holidays) and are expected to cover any necessary room rehearsal space as well as paying their sketch team director.
How do I submit?
If you are able to commit to weekly meetings either Mon,Tues, or Wed and are available for the show dates and tech rehearsals, please fill out THIS FORM HERE!
When will notifications be sent out?
The deadline to apply will be May 4, 2022 and teams will be announced on May 6, 2022!
