Announcing Our Updated Theater Schedule!
We’re making some exciting changes to the Magnet Theater’s programming schedule!
For 15 years, The Magnet Theater has been committed to growing and nurturing a community of great improvisers, writers, actors, and storytellers - who are all connected by their love of making great comedy.
This community is a creative home for both emerging talent and veteran performers alike, who are all developing their comedic voices, breaking boundaries, and influencing each other as they experiment and develop new work together.
With these changes, as explained below, we’ll continue to showcase our dynamic shows and performers while offering the community even more space to create and develop original comedy:
Sundays: LiveWire, our house sketch ensemble program, is moving to Sunday evenings at 6pm. You can catch the new season on Sunday, September 15.
Mondays: This will be Magnet Theater’s new development night. We will be partnering with groups who are looking to create and develop new work, which includes improvised and scripted comedy. The theater will be “dark” on Mondays as we develop these creative partnerships. Look for more announcements about this!
Thursdays: This night will feature a rotating lineup each week to give our community and a broader audience more opportunities to support the Magnet Theater’s exciting, dynamic shows and performers. We’re also producing a new variety show where you can workshop your original material in front of a live audience. Scheduled for the last Thursday of the month at 10:15pm, this new show will feature Magnet’s best musical acts, improv, sketch, storytelling, musical improv, characters, stand up, short video...or anything else that makes us laugh. We’ll be asking for submissions very soon, so stay tuned for more information!
We are excited about these changes and are looking forward to seeing them in action this September!
