About the Show
Part stand-up, part confession, part exorcism on live TV.
In Killing Janet, a Nigerian-American woman sets out to kill her missionary-given name in front of a live studio audience. What begins as a confessional spirals into a feverish game show where faith, identity, and assimilation battle for control. Through biting humor, Yoruba myth, and multimedia spectacle, Omalolu Fiki transforms the stage into a surreal collision of church, therapy, and television.
At once hilarious, unsettling, and deeply human, Killing Janet is a ritual of unmasking that asks what must die for a woman to finally live.
