About the Show
In this show, a conversation with a neuroscientist about their life and science inspires a set of hilarious, never-to-be-seen-again improv comedy. This time we will interview Dr. Gabrielle Gutierrez, Assistant Professor at Barnard College and an affiliate of The Center for Theoretical Neuroscience in the Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University. She told us that her fascination with the brain arises from the fact that it is basically a computer made of meat! As a theoretical/computational neuroscientist, she creates models and simulations of neural networks to understand how the properties of individual neurons influence the function of neuronal circuits.
This show is brought to you in close collaboration with the Columbia University Neuroscience Outreach Program (CUNO). The project is funded by a Civic Engagement Microgrant from Research! America. We extend our gratitude to our fiscal sponsor, the Northern Manhattan Arts Alliance.
