Class Description

Doing a great ten minute scene is very different than doing a great one minute scene. This class will be focused on solid, grounded, two person scenes. We'll hone our listening and commitment skills and learn how to plumb the depths of our characters to get meaty, satisfying, hilarious scenes that last longer than a few minutes. This will be a rust-busting scenework heavy class focused on building our basic scenework chops and dropping our sense of panic in two person scene work. Prerequisite: Magnet Level 3 or Instructor approval.

Instructor: Rick Andrews

Rick Andrews is a teacher and performer at The Magnet Theater, and has been studying, performing, and teaching improvisation since 1999.

He began improvising with Improv Boston, and continued with a stint in Saint Louis, MO. He is an adjunct at Columbia University, teaching in the MFA acting program, on the board of The Unscripted Project, and has taught at hundreds of festivals, theaters, and companies around the globe.

At Magnet, you can see him in The Armando Diaz Experience and Kornfeld and Andrews.
