Advanced Meta-Agreement (3 sessions, in-person) with Rick Andrews
Class Description
We know it's great to agree. We agree on the facts of the scene, the reality of what we're building. But can we also agree on how we're approaching this scene? What cues can I take from my partner as to not just what's happening, but how it's happening? Why is this particular fun we're having fun? What kind of a scene am I being invited into? In this class, we will stretch our stylistic muscles to become extremely well rounded improvisers, ready to tackle whatever scene comes our way, however it comes our way. Prerequisite: Magnet Improv Level 3 or equivalent
Rick Andrews is a teacher and performer at The Magnet Theater, and has been studying, performing, and teaching improvisation since 1999.
He began improvising with Improv Boston, and continued with a stint in Saint Louis, MO. He is an adjunct at Columbia University, teaching in the MFA acting program, on the board of The Unscripted Project, and has taught at hundreds of festivals, theaters, and companies around the globe.
At Magnet, you can see him in The Armando Diaz Experience and Kornfeld and Andrews.
