Applications for the 2026 Magnet Diversity Scholarships will open on April 1st. An Open House will be held on April 11th from 1:30-3:30pm at Magnet Theater, with a Q&A from 1:30-2:30pm and a Diversity Improv Jam from 2:30-3:30pm.
Mark your calendars! Magnet Theater is pleased to announce that the Diversity Scholarship is running again in 2026! Applications open on April 1st @ midnight for the 2026 Magnet Diversity Scholarships. We have the diversity scholarship so that the Magnet population more accurately reflects our community on stage and in our classrooms.
The Magnet Diversity Scholarship Program is aimed at increasing our diversity of age, race, ethnicity, gender identity, socioeconomic status, disability, and sexual orientation. Students of all experience levels are encouraged to apply as the scholarships are open to those who have never studied at Magnet, as well as to those who have partially completed the program.
Those selected will receive credits that can be used towards Improv, Musical Improv and/or Sketch Writing (please note at this time, electives are not included with the scholarship). Due to the number of scholarships we are awarding and the expected number of applicants, applications will be competitive. We encourage applicants who were not awarded a scholarship in previous years to re-apply.
An Open House will happen on Saturday, April 11th from 1:30-3:30pm. There will be a Q&A the first hour where you can get any questions you have answered. That will be followed by a Diversity Jam! Prospective applicants are encouraged to attend to meet with current Magnet performers and Diversity Scholars. Come to ask questions, stay for the community!

2026 SCHOLARSHIP TIMELINE:
Applications open: Wednesday, April 1st
Open House & Diversity Jam: April 11th from 1:30-3:30pm
Applications close: Thursday, April 30th at 11:59pm
Interviews (for those selected): Taking place Sunday, May 17th - Saturday, May 23rd. Please note that not all applicants will be selected for an interview, however, everyone will be informed whether or not they will receive an interview by Friday, May 15th.
The new class of Diversity Scholars will be notified by Sunday, May 31st.
