Keeping the spirit of the word "griot" alive, The Griot Show is a bi-monthly storytelling show featuring black comedians, musicians, artists, poets, educators, and elders from around NYC. Come, join us for an evening of stories that are sure to be edutaining (educational and entertaining)!

Michael Paul Britto is a Visual Artist and DJ. His works range from videos to digital photography, sculpture, collage, and performance. Britto has had residencies at the New Museum in New York as well as Smack Mellon, The Marie Walsh Sharpe Foundation and LMCC. Michael has been featured in shows at El Museo del Barrio, The Studio Museum of Harlem, The Zacheta National Gallery in Warsaw, The Kitchen and the Victoria and Albert Museum in England. Britto has been written about in "The New York Times, Art In America and the Brooklyn Rail.

Chinisha Scott is an artist, educator, and community organizer, born and raised in NY. By day, she's a professional producer and editor in web, film, and tv but by night, she's a hopeless romantic, nerd-type who just wants to make art and save the world (whatever is left of it).

Tim Barnes is a Los Angeles born, Brooklyn based comedian and writer whose absurdist humor brings light to social issues from unexpected angles. Tim has written for The AV Club, the NPR quiz show, Wait Wait? Don?t Tell Me! and even documented his testicles once for Men?s Health.

Joanna Briley is a New York City-based actor, stand-up comedian and writer. She founded Laff Tracks MetroComics Inc, a comedy organization that allows MTA employees to combine their senses of humor with their experiences working in New York?s busiest transportation system. She currently hosts both the monthly Pro-Show LaffTracks Comedy Showcase and the weekly Wednesday?s Comedy Workout Open Mic as well as being the Senior Manager of Comedy Development at the Brooklyn House of Comedy. Joanna has appeared on Lifetime TV ?Fempire? campaign, WWHL with Andy Cohen, and several appearances on Wendy Williams ?Street Talk? segment. She?s also a wonderful member of the GOLD ComedyTMadvisory board, an organization striving to bring comedy to young girls as a tool of empowerment and self-confidence building--
