MasterClass: Make it Matter with Rachel Hamilton
Class Description
Improv magic happens when you are able to discover your emotional world and go all in on it. When you can allow the circumstances of your scenes to guide your emotional state in a truthful way, your scenes become impactful and resonant. Nobody cares about the plot of your scene, they care about the relationships between the characters engaged in the story; emotional connection is what moves an audience. In this class you will practice finding the emotional river that flows through every scene you do and learn to embody whatever you discover, without judging your character. Learn the skills to make your scenes flow with ease and truth; the kind of scenes that are compelling to watch and joyful to do! Prerequisite: Magnet Level 1 or equivalent experience
Rachel is an actor, improviser, teacher, writer and director living in New York City. Rachel has a degree in Theater from Northwestern University, where she began her love affair with Improv. Fifteen years later she is still at it, and loving it more and more with each passing year. Rachel considers it is an honor to introduce people to this magical art form and believes strongly that the basic tenets of Improv also make for a rich and wonderful approach to life.
